With input from industry leaders, including Kohler, IKEA, Whirlpool, and others, this guidance tackles a challenge in household water efficiency: the lack of consistent and transparent methods for products making water savings claims. By offering best practices, practical steps, and tools to create credible estimates, the report aims to enhance transparency, build trust, and foster innovation throughout the consumer products sector.

Developed under the leadership of AWE staff, and informed by decades of collective expertise in water efficiency, household behavior, and research best practices, this publication represents an important step toward a more sustainable water future.
