On February 14, 2025, AWE sent this letter to the EPA, signed by 70 organizations, expressing strong support for the WaterSense program and requesting a meeting.
Later in the day on February 14, 2025, the EPA published this press release, with Administrator Lee Zeldin stating, “I’ve instructed EPA’s WaterSense program to overhaul their specifications that best factor in effectiveness and consumer experience.”
On March 15, 2025, AWE sent a follow-up letter to EPA with more organizations signed on to support WaterSense and requesting a meeting.
AWE is working with industry partners to emphasize that WaterSense-labeled products offer consumers reliable, high-performing, water-saving options at competitive prices. Beyond seeking meetings with the EPA, AWE is also engaging with Congress to advocate for continued WaterSense funding.
