Eastern Municipal Water District Earns Platinum-Level Recognition for Implementation of the AWWA G480 Water Conservation and Efficiency Program Standard

AWE was proud to recognize Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) at the 2026 AWE Symposium in Chicago for achieving Platinum-level recognition for its implementation of the AWWA G480-25 Water Conservation and Efficiency Program Operation and Management Standard.

The voluntary G480 standard provides a comprehensive framework for effective water conservation and efficiency programs, covering everything from system operations to customer engagement and education. The standard was updated in December 2025 to address evolving priorities, including climate resiliency and leak notification programs.

As a membership benefit, AWE offers third-party verification of G480 compliance to all AWE members. The process requires utilities to document how they are implementing each element of the standard, making Platinum-level recognition a significant achievement.
