Cooling Tower Estimating Model

The Cooling Technology Study was initiated by the AWE's Water Efficiency Research Committee after it identified cooling tower water efficiency as an area of needed research. AWE issued its Cooling Tower Estimating Model (CTEM) and an accompanying guide as part of this study.

Water Conservation Tracking Tool

The Water Conservation Tracking Tool is an Excel-based model that can evaluate the water savings, costs, and benefits of conservation programs for a specific water utility. It provides a standardized methodology for water savings and benefit-cost accounting, and includes pre-defined conservation activities to build conservation programs. The Tool currently helps hundreds of water managers across North America make cost-effective investments in efficiency. 

Financing Sustainable Water: Aligning Rates, Revenue and Resources

Financing Sustainable Water provides practical information to guide utilities from development through implementation of rate structures that balance revenue management, resource efficiency and fiscal sustainability, along with other goals such as affordability and equity. It provides helpful tools, such as the free AWE Sales Forecasting and Rate Model, to water managers, elected officials, and consumers.

The consumer website Home Water Works features an advanced household water calculator. This stunning website was created to give consumers the best and most relevant information about conserving water at home, and offers water saving tips and information about every major water-using fixture and appliance found in homes today.
