H.R. 2921 - Water Infrastructure Sustainability and Efficiency (WISE) Act
Purpose: Set aside existing federal funding for green infrastructure, water or energy efficiency improvements, or other environmentally innovative activities.

Summary: This bill requires each state to use a certain percentage of funds it receives for capitalization of its clean water state revolving fund for projects to address green infrastructure, water or energy efficiency improvements, or other environmentally innovative activities. [full text]

H.R. 5016 - Water Efficiency, Conservation, and Sustainability Act of 2023
Purpose: To incentivize water-efficiency upgrades and to establish programs to identify and repair leaks, especially in areas experiencing severe drought and in low-income communities.
Status: Referred to House Energy and Commerce Committee

Summary: To increase efficiency and conservation in public water systems, and for other purposes. The bill would establish three new EPA grant programs and authorize each for five years. The programs include the: Water Efficiency and Conservation Grant Program ($50 million per year); Sustainable Water Loss Control Program ($40 million per year); and Grants for Water Efficient Plumbing Code Adoption ($20 million per year).
